Depending on the empire you choose, you'll travel to new lands, which you should colonize and exploit if the natives let you. If they don't, you'll have to either negotiate with them or declare war.
The interface is very neat and the graphics are similar to other games of this genre. Freecol is a true gem and fans of this type of game will enjoy playing.

It's good, but as you explore the map, the wait during turns slows down until it freezes. You have to save the game every so often, close it, and reopen it to avoid this. Which is really quite annoyin...See more
